2 ‘drug pushers’ killed, 3 others fall in Mandaluyong

TWO suspected drug pushers were killed while three others were nabbed by combined elements of Eastern Police District (EPD) who conducted raid in a drug den and resulted to the confiscation of firearms and illegal drugs yesterday afternoon in Mandaluyong City.

EPD director, Chief Supt.Romulo Sapitula identified the slain suspects as Joselito Aldon, alias Pepe Smith, 53, and Jerry Gonzales Ignacio, alias Puyo, 30, both of Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
Three other suspects identified as Manuel Gozagoron, 31; Allan Calimlim, 32, and Arjay Corpuz, 29, were arrested during the operation.
Sapitula said combined elements of the District Special Operations Group (DSOU), District Anti-Illegal Drugs (DAID) and District Special Reaction Unit (DSRU) raided a suspected drug den occupied by Dexter Corpuz alias Bornok and his cohorts on Balimbing St., Block 37 B, Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
The operation was based on information regarding the rampant illegal drug trade involving the suspects.
The law enforcers were armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Monique Quisumbing Ignacio of the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court.
Aldon and Ignacio allegedly fired at the policemen serving the search warrant. The policemen fired back, fatally wounding both suspects.
Chief Insp. Alan Miparanum, DAID chief, said suspect Dexter Corpuz managed to escape.
The raiding team said two caliber pistol were recovered from the two suspects. Illegal drugs were also recovered by the authorities.
