Woman killed for threatening to have addicts arrested
THE Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the man who shot to death a 32-year-old woman while lying in bed with her four-year-old son in Tondo, Manila, the other day is a known drug pusher in the area.
Prober SPO2 Joseph Kabigting said that pending the outcome of a follow-up operation, the name of the suspect who shot dead victim Carmelita Flores, of 2194 Isabelo delos Reyes St., Batangas, Tondo, Manila, is being withheld.
Information gathered by the police said the suspect got annoyed with the victim’s frequent pronouncements that she will have all drug pushers and addicts in their area arrested by the police, each time she would visit her brother residing in Antipolo Street, Tondo.
Police also said that months ago, an unidentified suspect hurled a grenade at the house of the victim’s brother and then fired shots. The grenade failed to explode but her brother got hit and survived.
Flores was shot thrice in the face and body by a gunman at around 2:15 p.m.
The victim was said to be texting while lying with her son when the shooting happened. The suspect fled on foot along with his cohort who served as a lookout toward Narra Extension in Tondo.
Before fleeing, the gunman also reportedly pointed a gun at the victim’s 18-year-old son who was then watching television.
