HEART Evangelista says she enjoyed doing “Juan Happy Love Story” so much that she got to love acting again. “Before this kasi, bored na ako, e,” she says. “E, dito, nag-sex comedy ako, na ngayon ko lang nagawa, and na-excite uli ako. Nabuhay uli ang passion ko sa trabaho, sa pag-arte. I really enjoyed doing the scenes I did for the first time, like 'yung sumayaw kami ni Dennis Trillo sa Obando para humingi ng anak. Ang saya noon. Ang bilis ngang natapos, e. But I heard may balak daw na gawin kaming weekly sitcom. Kasi puwede talagang ituloy 'yung story nina Juan and Happy bilang mag-asawa. Sana, matuloy.”

She says Dennis Trillo is now more relaxed in her company. “Kasi dati, hindi siya nagsasalita, pero ngayon, hindi na siya shy, nag-warm up na siya sa akin. Sa lahat ng shows na ginawa ko, dito ko talaga napasabak sa napakaraming kissing scenes. Sabi nga nila, kung kailan ako nag-asawa, dun pa ako gumawa ng ganitong mga eksena. Buti na lang very supportive ang husband ko (Sen. Chiz Escudero). Hindi na lang niya pinapanood para hindi siya mag-react.”

She’s happy that the show ends at a time when she’ll be busy about her new house in New Manila that she’s having constructed. “I’m really so excited. Namimili na ako ng mga gamit sa bahay, like kitchen utensils, I got them in Japan when my mom and sister went there. We’ll really have to prepare well for our moving in.”

Aside from her numerous other projects like launching her own clothes line, make up line and her bag paintings, she just got an offer for a new brand based in Paris. “They saw my account in social media and they followed it. They got in touch with me and want us to meet in France, at the French Riviera no less. I cannot reveal yet what kind of product, but I’m so excited. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Sana matuloy.”

RURU ON RELATIONSHIP WITH GABBI: ‘GANUN PA RIN PO’

RURU Madrid is happy now  to have two regular shows. Monday to Friday, he is seen as the hunky Ybarro in “Encantadia” on primetime. Weekends, he is now a mainstay in “Sunday PinasSaya” along with his ka-loveteam, Gabbi Garcia. “Thank God ang daming blessings,” he says.

Everyone compliments him for his more bulky figure these days. “I need to be more physically fit for my role in ‘Encantadia’,” says Ruru, who started when he was just a skinny 14 year old and is now taller and heftier at 18. “Kasi ang Ybarro sa unang ‘Enca’ was played by Dingdong Dantes. When it was first announced na ako ang gaganap na Ybarro, ang dami kong bashing na natanggap. Hindi raw ako bagay. Nakaka-pressure     kaya 'yun, kaya kailangang magpaganda rin ako ng katawan para naman hindi nakakahiya.”

So what did he do? “Nagbabad ako sa gym for the usual workouts, na sinamahan ko ng boxing, muay thai at pati na rin kickboxing. So ngayon, wala nang namba-bash sa’kin. Puro positive comments na ang nakukuha ko. It’s hard to do action kasi di maiwasang magkasakitan kayo. Nasipa na ako ni Pancho Magno nang todo sa dibdib. Nahulog ako sa bangin. But it’s all part of the job, so okay lang.”

And he’s glad he’s given the chance to do comedy in “Sunday PinaSaya”. “I’m learning so much from the show working with real comedians na sine-share ang talent nila sa’kin tungkol sa pagpapatawa. Mas natututo ako ng tamang delivery ng punchlines at ng, higit sa lahat, tamang comic timing.”

So he and Gabbi are now together almost every day of the week. What’s the real score between them these days? “Ganun pa rin po. Best of friends. Natutuwa kami dahil kung sa ‘Enca’, we do action and drama, dito naman sa ‘Sunday PinaSaya’, kumakanta kami, nagko-comedy. Ayaw naming madaliin ang mga bagay-bagay about us. It’s better to start as good friends muna. Ine-enjoy muna namin ang aming trabaho as of now.”

JAKE WANTS TO BE CLOSE TO INAH

JAKE Vargas has one of the most good-looking faces among our male celebs. He’s already 24 but still can pass for a teenager. He also sings well and can act quite persuasively. His drawback is his being vertically challenged at 5’4”, but he can still be paired with not so tall actresses, like his latest partner in “Oh My Mama” that starts airing on September 19, Inah de Belen, the daughter of Janice de Belen. Inah is less than 5 feet tall, so they’re perfect for each other since they’re both cute and petite.

Jake is currently loveless. After he broke up with Bea Binene last year, he admits he had a non-showbiz girlfriend for a while. But now, he’d rather be unattached and will just focus on his career. “I have to work for my family,” he says. “Sa akin kasi sila umaasa. Kaya wala munang ligaw-ligaw para hindi ako ma-distract, lalo na ngayon, marami akong trabaho.”

He’ll be performing with Derrick Monasterio, Aljur Abrenica and Rocco Nacino in the Music Museum concert, “Oh Boy”, on September 23. This early, he already declares that he won’t be disrobing like the other guys who are all buff.         “Wala akong six-pack abs na gaya nila,” he says. “Kakanta na lang ako and play the guitar. Kanya-kanya kaming role sa isang sexy segment ng show. Ako yung pizza delivery boy. Pero hindi ako magtatanggal ng shirt.”

So how does he find his new ka-loveteam Inah de Belen? “Okay siya, mabait. We’re not yet close so di pa kami nakakapag-bonding. Siguro, sa taping, doon kami magkakakilala nang husto. Sana maging close nga kami.”
