ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija -- An air-con technician was nabbed for suddenly hugging the teenage daughter of a 50-year-old lady eye doctor and  maliciously touching the minor’s body while fixing their unit here last Saturday.

Police officer-in-charge Chief Insp. George C. Caluad Jr. identified the  suspect as Ferdinand Calalang, 50, of Bgy. San Isidro, this town. He will be slapped with charges of acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Manuel E. Cornel said the victim’s mother, Dr. Myrna Castillo, and her 13-year-old daughter, a Grade 8 student, filed the complaint against the suspect before the police.
Cornel said the suspect’s lewd acts started when the mother asked her daughter to personally supervise the cleaning of their air-conditioning unit at 9 a.m.
The victim told police the suspect’s first vulgar act occurred when he was about to go outside of the room to get some spare parts of the air-con unit.
She was seated in front of the room’s door when the suspect suddenly embraced her and smelled her hair.
Then the next lustful act came after the suspect finished installing the repaired air-con unit in the room.
The victim said she was sitting on a bed, operating her laptop when the suspect switched on the air-con unit and deliberately locked the door.
After which, the suspect sat beside the victim and maliciously touched her cheeks, face, legs and back.
This scared the young victim, who immediately ran outside and screamed for help from their two housemaids, Marietta and Precy.
Police said the mother and her daughter initially lodged a complaint at the barangay but the suspect refused to yield, forcing them to seek help from the police.
Cornel said the suspect was subsequently arrested at his house where he chose to remain mum about the alleged incident.
