Authorities arrested two men who allegedly shot the son of a provincial reporter of ABS-CBN.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) acting director Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar  identified the suspects as Ronnue Espinosa, alias Ta-ning, 33, and Arjel Landagora, 26, both of Montalban, Rizal.

Eleazar said the two suspects shot Jan Dexter Rafiel C. Concepcion, an IT specialist and son of Quinnie Casimiro, of ABS-CBN Zamboanga, on Aug. 8, 2016 in front of Avida Condominium on EDSA, Bgy. Bagong Pag-asa, QC.

A report from the Masambong Police Station said the victim was walking in the said place when the suspects announced a heist at knife-point.

The victim was shot when he resisted the suspects. He is still confined at the Intensive Care Unit of QCGH.

On Aug. 17, 2016 at about 4 p.m., QCPD Station 2 operatives were dispatched along EDSA, Bgy. Bagong Pag-asa, on a tip of an informant about the suspects’ plan to strike again, resulting in the arrest of Espinosa, while his cohort Arjel managed to escape after robbing  another victim, Jenny Miravil, using a Honda XRM 125 (8340-NM).

However, on August 19, 2016, suspect Arjel was arrested at San Roque Interior, Bgy. Bagong  Pag-asa, during a hot pursuit operation where a hand grenade was also recovered from him.

The two suspects later admitted that they were accountable for the robbery and shooting incident on Aug. 8, 2016.
