Bgy chief, 2 others die in Laguna gun attacks

A Barangay chairman and two others listed in the illegal drugs watch-list were killed in separate shooting incidents in Bay and Biñan City in Laguna.

A report submitted by Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito to Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Valfrie Tabia identified the slain suspects as Barangay Chairman Danilo Ilagan, of Sta Cruz, Bay; Warlon Mercado, alias Kalabaw/Bakulaw, also of Bay, and a certain Rommel Enriquez, alias Kukay, of Sitio Umboy, Bgy. San Antonio, Biñan City.
    
According to Pernito, Ilagan is a high-value target (HVT) along with the two other suspects for illegal drugs.
    
A report by Chief Insp. Marlon Calonge, Bay police chief, said  Ilagan was ambushed by an unidentified suspect while on board his MIO motorcycle (DA-22324) in front of the Bay Cockpit at 4:10 p.m. the other day. Ilagan died on the spot.
   
On same day, Mercado, also on board his motorcycle, was shot dead by unidentified suspects while on his way home to Bgy. Puypuy at 6:30 a.m.
 
In Biñan, Enriquez, an alleged pusher, was killed in an encounter with police operatives during a drug-bust operation.
    
Police recovered at the crime scene a cal. .45 pistol used by the suspect and an undetermined quantity of shabu.
