DESPITE the heavy downpour brought by southwest monsoon, vigilante group “Caloocan Death Squad” continued its killing spree, murdering two suspected drug personalities in separate incidents Friday night in Caloocan City.
Cesar Pangan, 47, alias “Bucheng,” was sleeping inside his house at Block 10, Lot 16, Palosapes St., Silanganan Subd., Bgy. 167, Llano, when five armed men, all wearing bonnets, barged in and shot him at close range in the head, killing him instantly.
Bgy. 167 assistant desk officer Gilbert Violante said the suspects were on board three motorcycles when they entered Silangan Subdivision at around 11:30 p.m. and asked for the direction of Bucheng’s home.
“Mismong ang nakatatandang kapatid pa ni Bucheng ang napagtanungan ng mga suspek,” Violante said in an interview.
After the killing, the suspects escaped on their motorcycles.
Victim’s older brother, Antolin Pangan, admitted to police that Bucheng was involved in using illegal drugs and was included in the Police Community Precinct (PCP) 6 drug watchlist. He said he had been warning his brother about his illegal activities and even persuaded him to surrender but after submitting himself to the police, he returned to his bad habits.
Earlier at around 10 p.m., truck driver Ranie Garan, 37, and his live-in partner Eleanor Ibay were inside their house at Blk 9, Lot 23, Narra St., Saint Dominic, Bgy. 168, Deparo, when four armed men forcibly entered and dragged the victim outside the living room.
Despite his live-in partner’s pleas, the suspects, all wearing bonnets shot Garan several times in the body that resulted in his untimely death. After the killing, the suspects fled on board two motorcycles.
Bgy. Deparo desk officer Irving Tuazon said Garan was a known drug pusher in their barangay and was included in the watchlist of drug personalities of PCP-6.
