A 29-year-old man was in critical condition after he was mauled and stabbed by his father and brother following a heated altercation Sunday night in Valenzuela City.
Marlon Higoy of Area 4 Pinalagad St., Malinta was rushed by his neighbors to Valenzuela Medical Center for treatment of injuries in the head and a stab wound in the back while his father, identified as Reynaldo Higoy and brother Marvin, escaped after the incident.
The two, according to PO2 Julio Fernando, case investigator, are now facing frustrated parricide and frustrated murder charges before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.
Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. Ronaldo Mendoza said that prior to the incident, the victim, together with his father, brother and friends were having a drinking spree in front of their house at 10:30 p.m. for the commemoration of death anniversary of victim’s mother.
After consuming several bottles of liquor, Reynaldo reminded Marlon about his unruly behavior when getting drunk that resulted in their heated altercation.
At the height of their argument, Reynaldo grabbed a wooden chair and struck his son in the head. The victim managed to run but continued to utter insulting words against his father, prompting the latter to pick up a steel pipe and clubbed his son in the face.
Marvin, on the other hand, allegedly stabbed his brother in the back until they were pacified by their friends and neighbors.
The Valenzuela Police Community Precinct (PCP) 4 failed to arrest the suspects.
