NAVOTAS City Mayor John Rey Tiangco took his oath of office before Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Andres Reyes Jr. as he formally began his third and last term as city chief executive yesterday.
Tiangco, along with Vice Mayor Clint Nicolas Geronimo and newly- elected members of the Sangguniang Panglun-sod -- Councilors Arnel Lupisan, Ronaldo Naval, Carlito de Guzman Jr., Marielle Del Rosario-Tumangan, Atty. Ethel Joy Arriola, Reynaldo Monroy, Gerardo Santiago, Alfredo Vicencio and Richard San Juan -- took their oath at the Navotas City Hall.
Tiangco, who ran unopposed during the last elections, was extra- gratified by the massive support of the local re-sidents and the city gov-ernment which he con-tinuously compensates by implementing numerous pro-poor and pro-people programs and services.
“I and my co-workers at the city hall are so thankful to the residents for giving their share in developing and trans-forming Navotas into a much more progressive city. In return, we always make sure that all public services are delivered properly and with dis-patch,” Tiangco said.
With the all-out sup-port from his predecessor, his brother Rep. Toby Tiangco, who held the city’s top post for over a decade, Mayor Tiangco was responsible for the establishment of the first-ever Navotas City Hospital and several pumping stations that effectively alleviate flooding in most areas in the coastal city.
