TWO alleged leaders of a notorious carnapping syndicate were killed in a shootout with policemen in Binangonan, Rizal, yesterday.
Killed were Ronald Marcos, alleged leader of Marcos carnapping group, and one alias Allan, Marcos’ right-hand man.
Rizal police director Senior Supt. Adriano Enong said they received information that the suspects carjacked another vehicle, prompting police to immediately set up a checkpoint on Manila East Road in Bgy. Batingan, Binangonan, at around 6 a.m.
The suspects arrived on board a stolen Mitsubishi L-300. Upon seeing the police operatives, they fired at the officers and sped away. A shootout ensued.
