PNP ready for GMA arraignment today


PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome yesterday assured that all security measures are all in place in preparation for the arraignment of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today in Pasay Regional Trial Court.

Bartolome said all security arrangements have been considered and the PNP is ready to secure the former president during her arraignment.

“Lahat ng security arrangements have been considered, handa na po ang PNP,” Bartolome said.

He said he already directed the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to do their preparation.

Aside from the NCRPO, the Police Security Protection Group (PSPG) will also play a big role in securing the former president.

Bartolome said like before, the PNP will provide security in all areas included in the activity particularly in the main venue.

He added that NCRPO Chief Allan Purisima will take care the security preparations while PSPG director Chief Supt. Lina Sarmiento will handle the close-in security of the former president.

The former president will be arraigned today at around 8:30 a.m. before the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 112 Judge Jesus Mupas.
