LRTA chief quits post


MALACAÑANG confirmed yesterday the resignation of Light Railway Transit Authority (LRTA) administrator Rafael Rodriguez due to personal reasons.

In a text message to Palace reporters, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said Rodriguez’s resignation will take effect end of March 2012. “He is resigning  for personal reasons as he is considering entering politics in 2013. He is the Liberal Party district chair for Cavite,” Lacierda said.

President Benigno Aquino III is the ruling party’s national chairman. Lacierda said there is no replacement yet for Rodriguez.    Efren Montano
