Lapid to witness: Haggard na haggard ka!

SENATOR-Judge Lito Lapid stood up for the second time and questioned a witness about the supposed bank documents of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Lapid asked PSBank Katipunan branch manager Anabelle Tiongson if there were cameras inside their bank’s vault.

“Ms. Witness, may camera ba sa loob ng vault?” he inquired.

Tiongson said there was no camera inside the vault, adding that it was installed “outside.”

Lapid then jokingly commented how “haggard” and tired the witness was.

“Pagod ka na ba? Parang haggard na haggard ka na? Nu’ng una kang tumestigo tawa ka nang tawa,” Lapid said.

The witness then explained that she was suffering from a sore throat.

The senator-judge then asked whether the documents shown by Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali and Quezon City Rep. Jorge “Bolet” Banal were indeed fake.

Tiongson noted that the documents were “different,” reiterating that she did not provide the prosecution with the documents.

“It is different from our documents. I did not give him the documents your honor,” Tiongson said.

Lapid then said, “Yu’n lamang po Ginoong Pangulo, Maraming salamat po.”

On February 1, Lapid first took the podium to ask the prosecution on the difference between a loan and a cash advance.
