ACTOR Richard Gomez and Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste attended the yearly Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Alumni Homecoming yesterday in Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City, as they were adopted by PMA Class 82 and PMA Class 2005.
In an interview with People’s Tonight, Gomez said he was invited by a friend from PMA Class 82 to join their class.
Aside from Gomez, PMA Class 82- Sandigan also adopted another government official in their class.
Vice Governor Leviste, on the other hand, was also adopted as honorary member of PMA-Class 2005.
Leviste said when he was still a boy, one of his dreams is to enter the PMA but he ventured into business and politics.
Meanwhile, the PMA administration clarified that they have nothing to do with the adaptation of members of any PMA class whether it is a private individual, celebrity or politician.
PMA-Public Information Office chief Captain Lynette Flores said, every class has the right to adopt any individual base on their own criteria.
The alumni association, according to Flores, will decide if they will adopt a certain individual as their honorary member.
Record showed that among the personalities adopted by the PMAer were Senator Bong Revilla who was adopted by PMA Class 85, former first gentleman Mike Arroyo and his daughter Luli and presidential brother Buboy Macapagal and Senators Loren Legarda, Jinggoy Estrada and Francis Escudero.
