Purisima is top Cavalier Awardee

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office chief Director Alan LM Purisima was conferred the Cavalier Awardee for Command and Administration in yesterday’s Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. alumni homecoming in Fort del Pilar in Baguio City.

A member of PMA ‘Dimalupig’ Class of 1981, Purisima received his award from fellow Cavalier, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin.

The PMAAAI Cavalier Award is the highest award conferred to a PMA alumni who have accomplished outstanding achievements in military and police operations.

Purisima distinguished himself as the Police Regional Office 3 director in Central Luzon and chief of the Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response, the PNP anti-kidnapping unit responsible for curbing cases of kidnapping-for-ransom by neutralizing majority of the most notorious kidnappers.

As NCRPO chief, he has also supervised anti-crime operations of his men which led to a much-improved peace and order climate in Metro Manila.

PMAAAI chair Remy Tigulo said the PMAAAI Board of Directors approved the awards committee’s recommendation to confer Purisima the Cavalier Award for his outstanding performance as a police professional in the field of police command and administration.

Tigulo further stated that the award also reflects the awardee’s dedication, idealism and adherence to the PMAAAI’s aims and purposes and to the PMA’s motto of ‘courage, integrity and loyalty.’
