THE Court of Appeals extended the freeze order against the bank accounts of a medical supplier who was accused of wire fraud and money laundering in US-territory Guam.

In a four-page resolution, the CA ruled to extend for another six months, or until April 8 of this year, the six bank accounts of Rosalito Ramos Nucum in Metrobank.

The CA found it appropriate and judicious to extend the freeze order to avoid the possibility of the funds being withdrawn, removed, transferred, concealed, and placed beyond the reach of Philippine law enforcers.

Nucum was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on five counts of wire fraud and six counts of money laundering on June 15, 2011 when he allegedly defrauded Guam’s Chuuk State Government.

Nucum, who owned a  medical supply firm—Lindley Distributors—with business licenses both in Guam and the Philippines, allegedly took the payments for medical supplies but did not deliver them.
