MORE than 40 officials and representatives from agencies under the executive branch headed by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) yesterday formalized the start of the Philippines’ ‘National Single Window’ (NSW), a computer-based facility aimed at hastening the processing of import and export transactions.
An elated BOC Commissioner Rozzano “Ruffy” Biazon, said the milestone “will not only help the bureau enhance its efficiency and integrity, but most importantly, this will facilitate faster service in the BOC.
The NSW is expected to dramatically cut the processing time of import and export transactions by doing away with the physical movement of documents from one office to another.
The MOA signing event at the BOC was attended by the heads of office and/or representatives of the 40 government agencies.
