MALACAÑANG yesterday downplayed speculations of destabilization versus the Aquino government and denied that the Presidential Security Group (PSG) has increased the frequency of its drills.
Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda yesterday belied reports circulating in text messages that the PSG has increased the frequency of its drills following developments related to the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
“I spoke to Colonel Chito Dizon. That’s not true. It’s not true na napapadalas ang camp drills,” he said, adding that the Palace “has not heard any” attempt to destabilize the government, “I believe that the sentiment of the people is very clear on this area, that impeachment is the constitutional process of removing a constitutional official,” he said.
