FIVE known drug offenders in Cavite were arrested by the local police in separate anti-narcotics operations in the province last Monday, Cavite Provincial Police Office director Senior Supt. Arthur V. Bisnar said yesterday.
One of the suspects, identified as Ryan Vera, 37, was arrested in Bgy. Maitim II, Tagaytay City, after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover officer. Seized from the suspect were P400 worth of shabu and the marked money paid to him by an undercover officer.
In Imus City, local policemen raided the house of Donnaly Bagay, 38, in Bgy. Malagasang 1-F and arrested her after they recovered 25 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated P50,000 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ inside the suspect’s room.
Bisnar said his men raided the house of the suspect on the strength of a search warrant for violation of the anti-drugs law issued by Judge Agripino Morga of the San Pablo City Regional Trial Court Branch 32 in Laguna. The official said that Bagay is included in the watchlist of the local anti-narcotics unit.
Also in Imus City, police arrested Alan Ilano, 45, during a sting in Bgy. Medicion 1A. Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked money he received from the poseur.
In Naic, police arrested Michael Aregon, alias ‘Michelle Bakla,’ 31, and Rachelle Aldave, 35, after they conspired to sell a packet of shabu to a poseur on Kabisig Street, Bgy. Ibayo Silangan. The two suspects turned out to have already surrendered to local policemen conducting the PNP Oplan: Tokhang prior to their arrest.
Seized from the duo’s possession were a plastic packet containing around 1.5 grams of shabu and a marked P500 bill they received from the undercover agent.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Bisnar.
