LIPA City, Batangas -- A 26-year-old construction worker was shot dead by an unidentified suspect while sitting and talking with an unidentified man in Purok 6, Bgy. Antipolo del Sur, here, Wednesday afternoon.
John Kenneth Dimaunahan Olan, married, a construction worker, of Sitio Alibangbang, Bgy. Antipolo del Sur, died instantly from gunshot wounds in the head and body, said city police chief Supt. Carlos E. Barde.
A concerned citizen informed the Lipa City Police Station about the incident at 3:20 p.m.
Investigators led by detectives SPO1 Ronilo Canaman Balita, PO3s June Olave Gonzales and Ramil Olocoloc Malipol said that at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the victim was sitting on a piece of wood in the property lot of Bgy. Captain Marlon Luancing where fence was under construction when the suspect suddenly appeared and shot the victim in the head and body, causing his instantaneous death.
Witnesses said the gunman hurriedly walked towards the barangay road from the crime scene and boarded a motorcycle driven by a cohort and sped away.
A team from the Batangas Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, headed by Senior Insp. Camille Ocfemia Bandelaria processed the crime scene where they recovered three spent shells for cal. .45.
The victim’s body was brought to Funeraria Virrey for autopsy.
