Ecija farmer killed by RIT gunmen

LAUR, Nueva Ecija -- A 40-year-old farmer was shot dead by unidentified riding-in-tandem gunmen here last Wednesday night.

Police identified the slain victim as Benjamin Eduardo, of Bgy. San Juan, this town.
PO2 Rolando D. Nievera, officer-on-case, said the killing which occurred at 8:10 p.m. could be drug-related.
The victim was on his way home riding his red Honda Enduro motorcycle when he stopped in front of a house along the Laur-Gabaldon-Dingalan Road.
At this juncture, two MC-riding unidentified men suddenly appeared and shot the victim at close range, causing him to fall from his motorcycle.
The suspects then fled, leaving the bloodied victim, who was rushed to Laur Rural Health Office where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Recovered at the scene were three empty slugs for cal. .45 and a live bullet.
