THE controversial bodyguard-driver Ronnie Dayan yesterday contradicted the testimonies of the other witnesses to the alleged drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

Appearing in the House probe, Dayan denied receiving payola for Senator Leila de Lima from the convicted drug lords in the national penitentiary,

On the other hand, while he admitted acting as bagman of de Lima with Kerwin Espinosa, he stated different dates on when they met to get the money.

According to Dayan, he met Espinosa about five times in 2014 to get the money as instructed by De Lima.

In the Senate hearing, Espinosa said he had several transactions with Dayan from August 2015 to February 2016.
But Dayan said, he met Espinosa in Mall of Asia on August 2014 and October 2014. The last three meetings took place in November 2014.
“Yung apat na pagkikita namin sa MOA, yung sa huli sa Baguio kasama si Ma’am. Lagi lang ako inuutusan na punta ka dito at magkikita kami,” Dayan said.
The fifth and last meeting was in Baguio City where Espinosa and De Lima introduced formally and had a photo opportunity, Dayan added.
When asked how much is the total amount of money Espinosa had given to De Lima, Dayan said he has no idea because he did not look at it but instead gave it straight to the senator.
Dayan also denied Espinosa’s claim that it was through Albuera police chief Senior Insp. Jovie Espenido that he got in touch with Dayan.
“Walang katotohanan. Hindi ko kilala ‘yun,” Dayan said.
“Sa totoo lang hindi ko pa nakikita ang pagmumukha ng Espinido na ‘yan,” he added.
