DURING their seven-year relationship  Senator Leila de Lima and former bodyguard-driver Ronnie Dayan built a “conjugal” house.

Appearing before a House inquiry, Dayan admitted that the big “orange house” in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan belongs to them.

Dayan said De Lima gave him a total of P2.1 million for the house. Initially he asked the senator for P120,000 to pay for the lot.

While the purpose of the inquiry is to investigate the proliferation of drugs inside the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP), lawmakers bombarded Dayan with questions regarding his romantic relationship with De Lima.

Dayan disclosed that his family knew about his affair with De Lima and vis-a-vis.

During the hearing, Dayan also narrated how their relationship turned cold and sour “from Signal No. 5 to Signal No. 1.”

According to Dayan, a few months before 2015, he heard that De Lima was having an affair with another security aide, Warren Cristobal, and he hurt her a little.

Dayan added.

Because of their falling out, he started skipping work in January 2015 and De Lima allegedly forced him to resign the next month.

Under questioning by Deputy Speaker Fred Castro, Dayan lamented De Lima’s dishonesty and unloyalty.

“Hindi nya sinuklian ng wagas at tunay na pag-ibig ang wagas na nararamdaman ko,” he said.

When Cagayan de Oro Rep. Maximo Rodriguez asked him if he still loved the senator he was quick to say, “Hindi na po.”

Asked why he acted as bagman for De Lima despite knowing that he was dealing with an alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, Dayan replied: “Nagawa ko po yan dahil sa pagmamahal ko sa kaniya.”
