A 27-year-old housewife was killed while her husband was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a speeding Isuzu pick-up truck yesterday morning in Caloocan City.
Jenelyn Olazo and her husband Jesus Emmanuel, 30, both of Phase 4C, Package 6, Blk. 41, Excess Lot, Bagong Silang, were rushed to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where the former succumbed to massive head and body injuries while her spouse was released after treatment of multiple bruises in the body.
Caloocan police chief Senior Supt. Johnson Almazan said Jesus Emmanuel was driving his motorcycle with his wife as back rider and cruising along southbound lane of Camarin Road towards Quezon City at 3:30 a.m. when they got hit from behind by speeding Isuzu pick-up truck in front of North Groove Condominium in Bgy. 175.
Due to the impact, the couple were thrown off their motorcycle and landed on the road while the driver of the Isuzu pick-up, identified only as certain Pare Tuan, immediately fled on foot after the incident.
Traffic investigator SPO4 Elvis Imperial said the Isuzu pick-up (UFF-962) is registered to Eduardo Bravo of Blk. 8, Lot 5, General Canon St., Bagong Silang, QC. Police said Bravo provided the name of his driver, who escaped after the incident.
