KIM Domingo may appear as a dumb bombshell in a gag show, but coming face-to-face with her creates a different impression. Recently, Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI) introduced her as the brand’s 2017 Calendar Girl at Sequioa Hotel in Quezon City. “Even when I was younger, I already had specific goals in life,” said the French-Pinay beauty now dubbed as the new Pantasya ng Bayan. “I knew what I wanted to be and what I wanted to accomplish. Being an only child, I also learned to be strong and independent early on.”
Not many knew that Kim joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines contest, and on to her teens, she joined several reality talent competitions. She rose to fame with her viral videos on Youtube, lipsyncing “Twerk It Like Miley” and dancing to the “Trumpets” challenge which got almost 2 million views.
Kim shared that it has always been her dream to be an actress, and now that she is part of GSMI’s roster of brand ambassadors, she hopes that this will open up more opportunities for her.
Now, aside from hosting, dancing and sharing jokes on the toprating gag show, “Bubble Gang” on GMA7 every Friday night, Kim has embarked on a new endeavor, as recording artist. Her debut single, “Know Me” under GMA Records has just been released. Kim has also been tapped as Vhong Navarro’s leading lady in the retelling of the Chiquito classic movie, “Mang Kepweng Returns” made for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2016.
The former car show model has joined the ranks of more popular models and actresses who have graced GSMI calendars through the years including two-time calendar girl Marian Rivera (2009 and 2014), Anne Curtis (2011), Solenn Heussaff (2012), Georgina Wilson (2013), Ellen Adarna (2015) and Arci Munoz (2016).
“Kim definitely personifies our marketing campaign, ‘Ganado sa Buhay’,” says Ginebra San Miguel brand manager, Paolo Tupaz. “She worked her way up to become one of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry. Her story is an inspiration to every hardworking Filipino.”
