Fire chars girl, 4, hurts 2 in Abra

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD girl was killed while two others, including a fireman, were wounded when a fire gutted a two-storey residential house the other night in Tuquib, Abra.

Cordillera police director Chief Supt. Elmo Francis  Sarona identified the fatality as Violette Fontanilla, kindergarten.
Taken to the hospital for treatment were John Carlo Fontanilla, 7, Grade 2 pupil, and FO1 Ramil Sito, of Villaviciosa Fire Station.
Reports said the incident occurred at 10:46 p.m. in a two-storey house owned by Victor Fontanilla in Bgy. Tuquib.
Reports said the victims were sleeping in their rooms when the fire struck until 11:42 p.m.
Firemen put out the fire and rescued some occupants of the house but one them was injured while looking for other victims.
During clearing operation, authorities recovered the charred body of the young girl who was trapped in her room.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the fire and the damage to properties.
