THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) shares the jubilation of the Filipinos on the victory of Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao over Mexican fighter Jessie Vargas during their match at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

AFP Public Affairs Office (PAO) chief  Colonel Edgard Arevalo said  Pacman’s triumph over his adversary in the boxing ring proves how Filipinos can reign supreme — whether in sports or in life’s mightier struggle.

“His victory epitomizes resolve to pursue a struggle and succeed. He exemplifies the Filipino indomitable spirit to rise above expectations from his humble beginnings, to the international boxing arena, to the hallowed halls of Philippine Senate,” Arevalo said.

“The Armed Forces of the Philippines shares the jubilation of the Filipinos here and around the world for this yet another great feat in world sports history. Congratulations, Senator World Champ!” he added.

For his part, Colonel Benjamin Hao, spokesman of the Philippine Army, said the victory of Pacman is not only a source of inspiration for their troops but the entire organization.
