A 42-year-old jeepney barker was killed while his wife was wounded when riding-in-tandem members of the Deadly Death Squad (RIT-DDS) shot them yesterday in Parañaque City.
Senior Supt. Jose Carumba, chief of Parañaque City police, identified the victim as Michael Aguila, of Bicutan Interchange, Parañaque.
Aguila died instantaneously due to six gunshot wounds, including one each in left cheek, nape and stomach. His wife, Anabelle, who sustained a bullet wound in the left shoulder, remained under observation at Taguig-Pateros District Hospital where she was rushed.
SPO2 Christopher Bilangel, officer-on-case, said the couple were standing on East Service Road-Bicutan waiting for a jeepney ride at 11:55 p.m. when the RIT-DDS suspects struck.
Witnesses told police that the suspects were both armed with short firearms of still unknown caliber.
Police said at least 12 empty shells for unknown caliber of firearm were recovered at the crime scene.
They refused to say whether the killing was related to illegal drugs.
