TO ensure the successful campaign against illegal drugs in Pampanga, PNP Chief, Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa installed his provincemate from Davao, Senior Supt. Joel R. Consulta, as Pampanga’s new police director.
Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino, Police Regional Office 3 director, officiated the change of command of Pampanga Police Provincial Office in a simple turnover ceremony at his office in Camp Olivas.
Consulta, a member of PNPA Class ’91 “Tagapagkalinga”, is the former commander of the Regional Public Safety Battalion of Regional Police Office 11.
He replaced Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono, who is retiring from the PNP service.
After the ceremony, Aquino challenged the new Pampanga police director to surpass the achievement of Recomono in maintaining peace and order particularly in the fight against illegal drugs.
Aquino, who got his permanent status as director of PRO3 last week, said that he has a standing order to all police units in Central Luzon to triple their efforts in combatting illegal drugs to clear villages in the region from the drug menace.
According to the office of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon, there are about 817 drug-cleared barangays in the region as of October 24, 2016.
