ALAMINOS City, Pangasinan -- The president of the city’s Liga ng mga Barangay was shot dead Wednesday night by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen while he was closing their gate.
Bued Barangay Captain Salvador Camba succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained in the head and body.
He was pronounced dead on arrival by an attending physician at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital where he was rushed by his relatives.
SPO2 Brian dela Cruz, Alaminos City PNP investigator, said the shooting incident transpired at about 8:15p.m. Accordingly, Camba’s wife was watching television when she heard gunshots. When she went out to check, she saw his bloodied husband sprawled.
A Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team of the PNP Crime Laboratory based in Lingayen processed the crime scene. Initially, they recovered seven empty shells and four slugs for cal. .45 pistol.
Dela Cruz said that based on the report from the hospital, Camba sustained two gunshot wounds in the head while his body bore 12 gunshot wounds, possibly some of the bullets went through-and-through his body.
Accordingly, Camba, himself a businessman, is not in the PNP’s list of drug personalities and that he was active in the PNP’s campaign against illegal drugs.
