MT. Province -- A man died in an explosion in Sitio Awa, Cadad-a-nan, Tadian, here, the other day at 9 a.m., a report to the chief of police here by Leo Gawisan said yesterday.
In coordination with Mountain Province Crime Laboratory Office (MPPCLO), elements of Tadian Municipal Police Station (MPS) proceeded to said place and cordoned off the area.
At around 12 noon, the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) arrived at the scene and identified the victim as Miguel Lang-odan Abkilang, 65, gardener, married, of Cadad-anan, Tadian.
Police said the victim sustained shrapnel wounds from the neck down to his legs.
Accordingly, the wife of the victim, Lolinda Pay-oen Abkilang, 61, also a gardener, said at around 4 p.m. of October 22, they left their farm- house unlocked and went home to Bgy. Cadad-anan.
Investigators said that at 6 a.m. Monday, the victim and his wife proceeded to Sitio Awa, Cadad-anan, to tend their garden.
Upon reaching their farmhouse, they noticed that the main door was locked inside so the victim went to the back door while the wife inspected the surroundings of their farmhouse where she noticed that the corrugated G.I. sheets wall was forcibly destroyed.
While on her way to the back door purposely to tell to her husband about what she observed, an explosion occurred, causing her husband to fall down.
The wife said her husband was opening the padlock of the backdoor when the incident happened at about 7 a.m. Monday.
The case is still being investigated by police.
