PAL gets bomb threat

A PHILIPPINE Airlines flight from Los Angeles received a bomb threat an hour before landing in Manila.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said their security department is working closely with the PNP Aviation Security Group and Airport Police Command in investigating the incident.

Villaluna said PAL flight PR103, carrying 331 passengers and 18 crew members, landed safely shortly past 5 a.m.  According to PAL Security Department Vice President Caesar Ronnie Ordoyo, the flight crew alerted PAL Operations Department of the threat prompting airport aviation and police authorities to meet the aircraft upon arrival.

“All threats are taken seriously, even if indicative of a hoax. The safety and security of all our flights are of utmost importance,” Villaluna said.

Meanwhile, a vintage bomb was excavated in the  construction site of the  Ayala MRT yesterday in Makati City.
   
The bomb was found around 1:05 p.m. while Ricky Villaroel, backhoe operator, and the workers digging in the area.
   
Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) of Makati police said the bomb has no fuse.
