A barangay tanod was gunned down by four suspects on board separate motorcycles while manning his post in San Juan City Monday night.
The victim was identified as John Joseph Domasig, 30, married, tanod of Balong Bato, San Juan City, and resident of 99 Levva St., according to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula.
The suspects fled on two motorcycles.
Investigators said the victim was manning his post at R Lagmay cor. A Lake outpost in Bgy. Balong Bato at 11:10 p.m. when shot by the suspects.
Witnesses said one of the suspects, wearing bonnet and helmet, got off the vehicle, approached the victim and shot him repeatedly in the body.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at San Juan City Medical Hospital due to four bullet wounds.
Police said the barangay tanod is listed in the San Juan City’s drug watchlist who voluntary gave himself up during mass surrender last June.
Sapitula has ordered an investigation into the said incident to arrest the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, another drug suspect was killed in Pasig City Monday night.
The victim Jun Art Penia, 31, jeepney barker, of ROTC Putol, Bgy. Rosario, was riddled with bullets by two unidentified assailants.
Police said Penia was calling passengers when the suspects on board a motorcycle shot him at 10:30 p.m. on Ortigas Ave. Extension cor. ROTC St., Bgy Rosario.
Pena was declared dead on arrival at Tricity Hospital. Police said he is listed in the watchlist of Bgy. Rosario as user and pusher.
