A 29-YEAR-OLD construction worker is now in jail facing murder charges for killing a driver in General Trias, Cavite, shortly before midnight Saturday, the Cavite Police Provincial Office said yesterday.

Rene Bajar, of Tropical Village, Pabahay, San Francisco, General Trias, was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by responding policemen. The suspect also yielded the bloodstained knife he used in killing Romel Montecino, 36, of Sunny Brooke 1, the same village, said Cavite police director Senior Supt. Arthur Bisnar.
Bisnar said an investigation showed that the suspect repeatedly stabbed the Montecino in the body at 11 a.m. Saturday before fleeing on foot. The victim died while undergoing treatment at the GenTri Medical Center.
