A MAN, who allegedly posed as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), ended up in jail after cussing at and challenging to a fight a patrolling cop who was merely trying to pacify him while he was creating trouble in Tondo, Manila, yesterday.
Now facing charges of usurpation of authority and assault upon an agent of person in authority is Percival Carreon, 35, of 237-A Doña Aurora St., Tondo, Manila. He was nabbed by Police Officers 1 Sonny del Monte and Jay-Ar Valdez, both assigned at the Asuncion Police Community Precinct (PCP) under Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 2 in Moriones.
A probe by SPO3 Paul Vincent Barbosa II showed that the said cops were patrolling when, at around 12:30 a.m., upon reaching the corner of Ylaya and Padre Rada Streets, they saw the suspect shouting at the top of his voice, challenging everyone in sight to a fight.
The cops tried to pacify the suspect but were merely pushed aside by the latter, while introducing himself as an NBI agent and waving at the cops his steel necklace with a pendant bearing the NBI insignia while he continuously cussed at them.
The suspect was arrested and brought to the police station for appropriate action.
