THREE members of a family, including a 12-year-old son, were massacred by relatives due to a land dispute yesterday morning in Toril, Davao City.

The victims were identified as Percy Angin Idar, 50, his wife Carlita Teleron Idar, 40, and their son John Kiser Teleron Idar, 12, all of Bgy. Baraca-tan, Toril.

Police arrested one of the suspects, identified as Romulo Iblahim Teleron, 50, brother of the victim, Carlita, while another suspect, Nilo Iblahim Teleron, managed to escape after the incident.

Reports said the incident occured at around 12:45 a.m. inside the victims’ house.

According to the minor daughter of the couple, who was able to take cover during the incident, she saw her uncle Romulo, alias Molot, hacked the neck of his brother and father while her uncle Nilo shot her mother.

SPO1 Danilo Alngog, officer-on-case, said the victims and the suspects were engaged in a long-time feud due to land dispute that resulted in filing of criminal cases.

Record showed that  Nilo filed frustrated homicide charges against Percy, but the latter posted bail for his temporary liberty and filed a case of violation or RA 9262 against Nilo for allegedly harming his son.

Both charges were currently being heard in the Provincial Regional Trial Court.

Another brother of Carlita, identified as Bonie, heard gunbursts from the victims’ house so he immediately went to check.

Bonie said that when he entered the house, he saw the dead bodies of Carlita and son John Kiser inside the house while the body of Percy was found near the house of their relatives some 300 meters away from their house.
