SIX passengers were injured when one of the two passenger buses which were racing against each other collided with another bus which was waiting for passengers before dawn yesterday in Malabon City.
A sketchy report submitted to Malabon police chief Senior Supt. John Chua said the driver of A.C. Transit, Rodel Celemenia, was racing with another unidentified passenger bus on MacArthur Highway at 2:30 a.m. when he hit the rear of Peña Liner being driven by Brando Tumbali, who was waiting for a passenger in Bgy. Potrero.
Due to the impact, six passengers of A.C. Liner bus sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital while the passengers of Peña Liner were unhurt.
Tumbali said he tried to approach the driver of A.C. Liner bus but he immediately sped away.
Malabon police traffic investigators will file charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property against the driver of A.C. Liner bus before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
