SIX suspected drug pushers were killed in separate shootouts in buy-bust operations in Bulacan, Bataan and Laguna and the wounding of another, police reported yesterday.
Bulacan policemen on Wednesday night shot dead four suspected armed drug dealers and arrested two others in a buy-bust operation in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said yesterday.
Caramat said the four slain suspects remained unidentified while their cohorts were identified as construction workers Mark Anthony Lacxa, 22, and Rene Lloyd Sacda-lan, 26, both of Phase 4A, Towerville Subd., Bgy. Minuyan Proper.
The official said a team led by Supt. Wilson Magpali launched the entrapment operation past 6 p.m.
He said the main target of the sting, identified as Erick Espinosa, had just sold a packet of shabu to an undercover officer when the latter sensed the entrapment operation and started firing at the undercover officer while being joined by the other suspects.
However, Espinosa managed to escape.
Caramat said a woman, identified as Michelle Seleic, was hit by a stray bullet in the right leg and was taken to a local hospital where she has been declared out of danger.
He said responding investigators from the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office recovered three cal. .38 revolvers, a cal. .45 pistol, an improvised handgun, assorted live ammunition, six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia at the scene.
Caramat said charges for violation of Article II, Sections 11, 12 and 13 of Republic Act 9165, attempted homicide and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition will be filed against the arrested suspects and Espinosa.
In Bataan, Senior Supt. Benjamin Silo Jr., acting Bataan police director, identified the fatality as Juman Taghoy, 29, of Bgy. Sisiman, Mariveles, and the arrested suspect as Michael O-linganga, 23, of Bgy. Ibis, Bagac town.
At 9:35 p.m. on Sept. 20, a poseur-buyer was able to buy a plastic sachet of shabu from Taghoy for P500. But the suspect sensed the presence of other policemen in the area. He allegedly pulled out a gun but was outdrawn by the policemen, who shot and killed him.
Recovered from the suspect were a cal. .38 revolver with six live ammunition and four small plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
A day earlier, policemen conducted a buy-bust operation in Ibis, Bagac, that resulted to the arrest of Olinganga, who sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
In Laguna, a suspected drug trafficker was killed in an encounter with joint elements of the Laguna Police Provincial Office, Provincial Intelligence branch and San Pedro operatives during an entrapment operation in Bgy. San Roque, San Pedro City, Wednesday.
A report to acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel C. Pernito by Supt. Harold Depositar, San Pedro police chief, identified the slain suspect as Cesar Olazo, who is Laguna PPO’s high-value target allegedly for being a member of Olazo Drug Group.
Depositar said Olazo was declared dead on arrival at Amante District Hospital.
The operatives were conducting an anti-illegal drug entrapment operation at about 5:30 p.m. when the suspect opened fire at the lawmen, who retaliated, hitting him.
Operatives recovered from the suspect two plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,000 and a cal. .38 revolver.
