TWO suspected drug personalities were killed while 15 others were wounded in separate buy-bust operations conducted by law enforcers in Bulacan, Angeles City and Pangasinan.
Acting Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. identified the slain suspects as Orlando Locarga Cabrera and Ronaldo Damasco Cruz, alias Onay, 45, of Bgy. San Juan, Hagonoy town.
Arrested were Leonardo Calayag Francisco, 51, Samuel Lorenzana Mundo, alias Bingo, 26, Reo Esguerra Cruz, 45, and Rowena Medina Pait, 51, all of San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.
According to Supt. Wilson M. Magpali, Cabrera was killed in a buy-bust operation conducted by SJDM police at 5:30 p.m. while Pait, Francisco, Mundo and Cruz were caught in the act of sniffing shabu inside the house of Cabrera.
Recovered from their possession were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Cruz, on the other hand was killed in another buy-bust operation by Hagonoy Municipal Police Station (MPS) inside the suspect’s house.
Records showed that the suspect was also involved in robbery incidents in Hagonoy.
Found at the crime scene were a cal. .38 revolver, three live ammunition, five sachets of suspected shabu and three fired cartridges for cal. .9mm pistol.
In Angeles City, six men were arrested in various anti-drug operations here since September 10.
Senior Supt. Sidney Villaflor, city police director, said the suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations and anti-criminality checkpoints in various parts of the city.
Arrested were Randy Poe Timbol, 38, who failed to stop at a police checkpoint while riding a motorcycle without plate number in Bgy. Lourdes East last September 13. A small plastic sachet of shabu was found from his possession.
Also arrested were Arlene Maalili, 49, who yielded a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu in Bgy. Agapito del Rosario; Robert Abad and Joram Silaga, who were found in possession of a small sachet of suspected shabu in Bgy. Santo Cristo; Jayson Pamintuan, 33, and Jerico Agapito, 39, who each yielded small plastic sachet of suspected shabu in Bgy. Anunas.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Pangasinan, more suspected drug personalities have been hauled to jail by the local police in line with the stepped-up campaign against illegal drug trafficking and abuse, Pangasinan police director Senior Supt. Ronald O. Lee said yesterday.
Three of the suspects were arrested Wednesday morning in Bolinao, Sison and Tayug municipalities, Lee said.
The official said suspect Marivic Ytac, 35, included in the watchlist of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council in Bgy. Concordia, Bolinao, yielded three plastic sachets containing shabu at 1:30 a.m.
In Sison town, local policemen arrested Elizabeth Haboc, 25, of Bgy. Agat, and Rommel Samidan, 37, a driver from La Trinidad, Benguet, while conspiring to sell shabu to an undercover officer in Bgy. Paldit. Three sachets of shabu and a marked P500 bill were recovered from the possession of the duo. The dump truck being driven by Samidan was also impounded by the Sison police, said Lee.
In Tayug, police arrested Ronie Seriosa, 36, a wanted drug personality in the area, during a buy-bust operation which led to the seizure of a sachet of shabu and two marked P100 bills paid to him by an officer.
On Tuesday, police arrested Mark Lester Magalindan, 35, a vendor from Bgy. Poblacion in Infanta town, after he sold two packets of shabu to a poseur. The suspect also yielded a marked P500 bill paid to him by the undercover officer.
