PHILIPPINE Christian University leaned on the hot hands of Jon Von Tambeling to subdue Collegio de San Lorenzo, 94-86, and register their second win in four outings in the 2016 NAASCU men's basketball tournament at the Makati Coliseum.
   
Tambeling exploded with 22 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Elvis Tolentino-mentored Dolphins, who rallied to beat the Blue Griffins.
   
Tambeling, who was also voted as Most Valuable Player (MVP)in the recent MBL Open, also went 4-of-4 from the three-point area in the payoff period.
   
Mike Ayonayon contributed 18 points while Yves Sazon, Fidel Castro and Dexter Mescallado added eight points apiece for the Dolphins.
   
James Alvarado finished with 15 points for the Griffins of coach Boni Garcia.
   
Jonjon Gabriel added 15, Charles Callano had 13 and Mark Carongoy had 11 for CdSL, which suffered its fourth straight loss after opening-day victory. 
   
Overshadowed by PCU's come-from-behind win    was De Ocampo Memorial College, defeated AMA University,  86-83, to improve its record to 4-1.
   
Dharell Carangulan topscored with 28 points for the Ronnie Dojillo-mentored Cobras, followed by Igy Boy Sabasaje with 20 and Jonard Clarito with 14.
   
Jayson Jordan topscored with 29 points for the Titans, who dropped to 2-3 overall.
   
Jezer Calma contributed  13 points, Miguel Magpantay had 13 and Jerome Ortega had 11  for AMA, which played under Benjie Diswe in the absence of head coach Mark Herrera.
