A policeman and one of two suspected robbers were killed in a shootout while policemen were on patrol and chanced upon the suspects robbing a convenience store yesterday in Para-ñaque City.

Chief Insp. Nelson Pagaduan, of Parañaque police, died while being treated in a hospital due to a bullet wound in the neck.
The slain suspect was identified as Freddie Palacay, alias Fred, of Pasig City.
Policemen, led by Pagaduan, were on visibility patrol at 12:12 a.m. in Sto. Niño, Parañaque City, when they chanced upon Palacay and an unidentified cohort robbing a 711 convenience store in the area.
The policemen tried to arrest the suspects but they were fired upon,  hitting Pagaduan in the neck.
The policemen, on the other hand, fired back, killing Palacay while the other suspect escaped.
Police said they recovered a cal. .38 gun with bullets from Palacay and two sachets of shabu after the shooting incident.
