ACTING Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Supt.  Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said five personnel from the Masambong Police Station (PS-2) accused of robbery-extortion were relieved from their posts.

Eleazar identified the five policemen as PO1 Michael R. Gragasin, first arrested after being caught receiving the extort money; Senior Insp.  Benjamin Mayor, SPO3 Archimedes Marzan, PO2 Alex Chocowen and PO1 Jeron de Dios, who were incriminated later.
Pending resolution of the case, they were all transferred to the District Headquarters Support Unit (DHSU) at Camp Karingal, QC, on August 22, 2016.
Eleazar also said that aside from the criminal charges filed against the respondents, grave misconduct charges were also filed against them and will be referred to District Internal Affairs Service (DIAS).
PO1 Gragasin was arrested by operatives of the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU), headed by Supt. Rogarth Campo, in the course of an entrapment operation conducted against him outside the Masambong Police Station on Aug. 20, 2016.
PO1 Gragasin was nabbed after receiving the extort money from Josephine Pineda, live-in partner of tricycle driver Zaldy Roda, earlier arrested for alleged violation of RA 9165. Subsequent investigation revealed the participation of the four others.
