THE president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Carasi, Ilocos Norte, is now facing the prospect of being stripped of his post and serving the rest of his life in jail after he was arrested while selling drugs to an undercover officer in Carasi town, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said yesterday.

Al Aguibay, 37, chairman of Bgy. Virvira, Carasi town, was arrested after he sold P3,000 worth of shabu to a poseur from the PDEA Regional Office 1 in Bgy. 23, Laoag City, said the PDEA chief.

Lapeña said members of the PDEA Region 1 under Director Jeoffrey Tacio, with the help of the Ilocos Norte Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and the Vintar Municipal Police Station, arrested Aguibay.

Recovered from Aguibay were a plastic sachet (0.0103 gram) of shabu and the drug-bust money.
Aguibay will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
