NAGA City -- Despite the series of so-called “vigilante killings” of drug pushers or suspected criminals in the city, Police Provincial Office Operations Unit head Supt. Virgilio O. Olalia Jr. tagged said killings as a hoax.
Olalia said with the surrender of over 11,000 self-confessed users and 507 pushers to the LGUs and the PNP in this province, “suspicions are high on many active pushers, particularly those who have not yielded, that their identities were now known to authorities.”
The alleged killings were allegedly perpetrated by drug pushers and dealers to silence their former clients, who have revealed their identities to the police, he said.
Olalia stressed that under “Oplan Tokhang,” the surrenderees gave out information on the personalities involved in illegal drugs in a particular locality.
In Naga City, three killings have been attributed to the mysterious “Vigilantes Bicol.”
