A SUSPECTED drug pusher, who is also being tagged as responsible for the murder of a pedicab driver recently, was killed after allegedly shooting it out with authorities during a buy-bust operation in Tondo, Manila, the other night.

Valentin Duran, alias ‘Bal-Bal’, 31, was killed around 11 p.m. inside his shanty located under the Capulong Bridge in Tondo.
Investigation by PO2 Dennis Turla of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Crimes Against Person Investigation Section (CAPIS) showed that a buy-bust operation was being conducted by the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs (SAID) of the MPD-Station 1 against the suspect when, in the middle of the transaction, the suspect sensed that he was dealing with a cop.
Duran allegedly pulled out his gun, prompting the cops to fire at him.  He died instantly due to several gunshot wounds in the body.
Supt. Redentor Ulsano, chief of the MPD-Station 1, said Duran was also identified as the suspect in the shooting to death of one Danilo Mendoza, who happens to be a police asset or tipster.
Mendoza was killed only last August 3 at the corner of Peñalosa and Franco Streets in Pritil, while he was standing on the sidewalk.
Recovered from Duran were a cal .38 gun, four live ammunition and four plastic sachets of shabu.
