Juan Luna top cop axed

THE commander of the Juan Luna Police Community Precinct was relieved from his post yesterday when a clearing operation being conducted in Binondo, Manila, yesterday morning uncovered a drug den.

Supt. Amante Daro, station commander of the Manila Police District-Station 11, announced that Juan Luna PCP commander Chief Insp. Luis Guisic had been replaced by Chief Insp. Roy Aluyot even as an investigation is now being conducted on the matter.
Several paraphernalia were also found in the said den, which also had an illegal power connection that is also being used to illegally supply electricity to vendors occupying the stretch of Juan Luna in Binondo. Reportedly, the vendors pay in exchange for the illegal power supply.
It was learned that those conducting clearing operation at around 8 a.m. yesterday noticed the presence of a shanty under the Muelle de Binondo Bridge. It was when the said shanty was inspected that drug paraphernalia and illegal source of power were discovered.
A suspected drug user, identified as Robert Regio, 50, of Bgy. 125, Matiisin St., Tondo, Manila, was  found in the said shanty.
