Pambansang welga ng KMU sa Marso 15


DAHIL sa panibagong oil price hike kahapon, binuhay ng militant labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno ang panawagan nito para sa nationwide protest sa darating na March 15.

Sinabi ni KMU vice-chairperson Lito Ustarez ang hindi maawat na pagmahal ng petroleum products ay indikasyon na patuloy na nananakawan ang mga manggagawa, tsuper at opereytor sa kanilang kakarampot na kita habang ang gobyerno naman ay nakikipagsabwatan sa mga kumpanya ng langis at nagsisilbing spokesman ng mga ito.

Ibinulgar ng grupo batay sa kanilang comprehensive study mula noong 1999 hanggang sa kasalukuyan nang ipatupad ang Oil Deregulation Law sa bansa o ang pagwawalang bahala ng gobyerno sa kalakaran ng petroleum, lumalabas na P9 ang overprice sa diesel at mahigit na P10 sa gasoline.

Ipinapaintindi ng KMU sa gobyerno sa kanilang datos na sa loob ng 13 taon ng ODL, malinaw na hindi repleksyon ng paggalaw ng petroleum sa world market ang dahilan ng hindi maawat na oil price hike kundi pananamantala lamang.

Sa panig naman ng militant transport group Pagkakaisa ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON), sinabi ni George San Mateo, na magpapatuloy ang lingguhang transport protest nito bilang paghahanda sa nationwide transport strike sa March 15, kasama ang lahat na mga kaalyadong grupo nito bilang protesta sa walang habas at ’di mapigil na pagtaas ng presyo ng petrolyo.
