3 of 4 robbers killed

Police killed three of four suspected robbers moments after they pulled off a heist at an Internet café in Quezon City Monday night.

Supt. Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., commander of Quezon City Police District-Station 4, said the three slain suspects remained unidentified while one of them managed to flee on a motorcycle at the height of the gunbattle past 9 p.m. on Quirino Highway in Bgy. San Bartolome.

Pedrozo said the slain suspects could have carted away P31,810 worth of cash and valuables had they not been able to neautralized by patrolling policemen. The stolen items included computer accessories and several cellphones of customers.

Pedrozo said the four armed suspects declared the heist and divested articles from 14 customers, mostly students, at gunpoint.

The fourth suspect hurriedly boarded a motorcycle and sped away.

Pedrozo said a commotion ensued as the suspects went out, prompting the policemen to check. But the three suspects fired at them, forcing the officers to retaliate.

Police recovered from the suspects a .45 pistol, two .38 revolvers and an icepick.   Melnie Ragasa-Jimena
