ASAHAN pa ang mga pag-ulan sa Metro Manila at mga kalapit lugar bunsod na rin ng buntot ng “cold front,” ayon sa report ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Ayon kay PAGASA weather forecaster Nicos Peñaranda, bukod sa National Capital Region (NCR), maaapektuhan din ng pag-ulan ang lalawigan ng Aurora at Quezon.
Nilinaw naman ni Peñaranda na wala pa silang namamataang bagyo sa Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) na maaaring magpapaigting sa umiiral na ‘cold front’.
“Nangyayari ang tailend ng cold front ’pag may mainit tayong panahon. Noong nakaraang araw kasi mainit ang hangin at bumanat ang amihan sa parting Norte ng bansa,” aniya.
Ayon kay Peñaranda, ang boundary ng mainit at malamig, naroon po ’yung tinatawag na tailend ng cold front kung saan nakapaloob ’yung mga kaulapan na nagdudulot ng ulan.
Bukod pa sa amihan, ngayong panahon din ay nasa peak na ang La Niña phenomenon batay sa monitoring ng climatology group ng PAGASA.
Ayon pa kay Penaranda, kapag La Niña, dito sa Pilipinas ay mas magiging maulan talaga at ang sumasalo ng pag-ulan ay ang area ng eastern section ng bansa, ’yan ang Eastern Visayas, Mindanao pati na ang Bicol Region. Jun l. Legaspi
