Authorities arrested a 25-year-old man during an entrapment operation after he allegedly demanded P1,000 and sex every Monday and Thursday against a female University of the Philippines (UP) student whom he threatened to release their sex video over the Internet.
Arrested was 25-year-old Mark Anthony Patino.
However, Patino never got his fantasies after Lea (not her real name), 19, was able to seek the help of police and got the suspect arrested during an entrapment operation at a mall in Quezon City Friday afternoon.
Investigator PO2 Andrew Hega said that Patino, a resident of Caloocan City, was subjected to inquest proceedings at the Quezon City
Prosecutor’s Office yesterday over robbery-extortion charges.
Hega said the suspect was caught while receiving the P1,000 payment from Lea during an entrapment operation set up by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 10 at around 3:30 p.m. in front of the SM North EDSA mall.
However, Hega noted that they could not charge the suspect for violating the Anti-Voyeurism Law since police found no sex video on his cellphone.
Patino claimed before police that there really was no sex video and that he wanted to see Lea again.
Lea, an Engineering student of UP Diliman, told police that she first got to know the suspect through Facebook last January.
Despite this, the victim said that she only met the victim on Feb. 1 when they eventually had their one-day affair.
Since then, Lea did not meet again with the suspect but Patino had told her that she was able to take video footages through his mobile phone of their sexual encounter.
Because of this, Patino threatened Eve that he will upload the sex videos that he has on the Internet.
Patino said that he was willing to delete the videos from his phone memory card if Lea pays up P1,000 and have sex with him every Monday and Thursday.
However, Lea was able to seek police help and was told to accept the demands of the suspect so he will eventually fall for the entrapment. Melnie Ragasa-Jimena
